Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo believes that Inter Milan are a top team, with a high-level squad to support their title push.

The 29-year-old Italian international praised the Nerazzurri in an interview with his club’s official social media channel, via FCInterNews.

Inter put in a statement win in Serie A last weekend.

The Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win away to reigning champions Napoli was certainly an eye-catching result.

Inter had not beaten the Partenopei at the Stadio Armando Maradona since 2020. And they had done so just once in the previous seventeen times that they’d previously made the trip to Naples.

For Inter, it was of course a very positive result.

The Nerazzurri came up with the perfect response to Juventus who had won away to Monza earlier in the weekend to temporarily go top of the table.

Napoli Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo Praises Inter: “Great Team With A High-Level Squad”

And for Napoli, it was a result that further introduced doubts about their season.

It would be hard to avoid the sense that this is a campaign with a title hangover for the defending champions.

The departure of Luciano Spalletti in particular seems to have left this Napoli team a bit lacking in identity and coherency.

But in reality, Napoli played well for a lot of the match. Particularly in the first half, Walter Mazzarri’s men stepped up and took the game to Inter.

But it was the Nerazzurri who simply held firm. And then the league leaders were clinical at the other end of the pitch.

Partenopei captain Di Lorenzo said that “Inter are a great team with a high-level squad.”

“They’re in great form at the moment,” he continued.

“But honestly I’m only focused on us.”

“Because we have to get back to winning ways at home,” Di Lorenzo said. “And give joy to our fans.”
