Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has been tested out as a starter in training ahead of tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Udinese.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908. The outlet report that it is still not certain what the Nerazzurri starting eleven will be for tomorrow’s match.

Bastoni is now back in training.

The 24-year-old returned to full training yesterday, after having been out for around three weeks.

Bastoni had been recovering from a calf injury that he picked up during the November international break.

But now Bastoni is fully fit once again.

Therefore, there is no question that Bastoni will be part of the squad for tomorrow’s match.

But the main question has concerned whether or not the former Parma and Atalanta defender would start the Serie A clash.

Alessandro Bastoni Tested Out As A Starter Ahead Of Inter Vs Udinese Serie A Clash

Today, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has been firming up his plans for tomorrow evening’s match, particularly in terms of which players he will put in the starting eleven.

In defense, the coach has some tricky decisions to make.

The absences of all of Stefan de Vrij, Benjamin Pavard, and Denzel Dumfries due to injury mean that Inter are quite thin on the ground in defense.

In fact, things have reached the point of a full-blown injury crisis.

Therefore, Inzaghi will have to get the balance right in terms of his starting eleven selections.

Not just in terms of the team on the pitch tomorrow. But also in terms of how he will rotate the team in the next few matches.

Reports have suggested that Bastoni would not likely start tomorrow’s match.

Rather, early indications had been, the 24-year-old would be a strong candidate to start against Real Sociedad in the Champions League and then Lazio in Serie A.

Therefore, Carlos Augusto could fill in for Bastoni on the left of the back three.

That is where the former Monza wingback played against Napoli last weekend.

But according to FCIN1908, in today’s training session, Inzaghi also tested out Bastoni in the back three from the start.

The coach is still making his decision about how he’ll set up his defense. And putting Bastoni straight back into the lineup is one possibility that he is considering.
