The San Siro is very close to being sold-out for this evening’s Serie A match between Inter Milan and Udinese.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet confirm that there will be over 70,000 spectators at the stadium for the Serie A clash.

One thing that has remained constant this season has been the level of fan support that Inter can rely on.

That is a continuation of a trend from the past several seasons.

Naturally, the relative success that the Nerazzurri have been enjoying on the pitch has contributed to this.

Last campaign, Inter reached the Champions League final. This meant a number of memorable European nights in front of the Nerazzurri faithful, including wins over Barcelona, Benfica, and in a derby clash with AC Milan in the semifinal of the competition.

And in Serie A, the Inter fans have also turned out in droves.

So far this season, the average home attendance for Inter matches has been 73,100.

That is the highest average for any team in the Italian top flight.

That trend of Inter drawing large crowds for their home matches will continue this evening.

Inter will be playing their first home match since the November international break this evening.

Both of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A matches have been away. The team faced direct rivals Juventus and Napoli in back-to-back away matches.

And in the Champions League, Inter travelled to Lisbon to face Benfica in a group stage match.

Naturally, the appetite has grown among Inter supporters to see the team back in action at the San Siro.

And certainly the results that the team has gotten away have increased the excitement.

A draw away to Juventus followed by a win over Napoli have seen Inter keep their spot at the top of the table.
