Wingback Juan Cuadrado will be on the bench from the start of this evening’s match between Inter Milan and Udinese, whilst defender Yann Bisseck well start.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that Matteo Darmian will start the match at wingback.
One thing that has always looked clear is that Darmian would be starting this evening.
The 34-year-old former Manchester United and Torino defender can cover in two positions in which Inter’s squad is currently depleted by injury.
Benjamin Pavard is out on the right of defense. And Denzel Dumfries is absent at right-wingback.
Therefore, the main question always concerned which of these two Darmian would play in place of.
And according to Corriere, it will be on the right flank that the Italian international plays.
Cuadrado To Be On The Bench For Inter Vs Udinese – Bisseck To Start
Wingback Cuadrado has yet to start a match for Inter, either in Serie A or in the Champions League.
The Colombian had arrived on a free transfer during the summer. He was more or less signed as a low-cost deputy to Dumfries who could provide a bit of a different profile of players.
But so far fitness problems have meant that Cuadrado has only made substitute appearances.
There is a sense that the next few matches may be Cuadrado’s opportunity to finally start a match for Inter,
It’s “now or never” for the former Juventus and Chelsea man considering the injury situation.
But the Corriere anticipates that Cuadrado will not be ready to start this evening. Therefore, Darmian will be the player who starts at right-wingback.
And that will mean a first ever Serie A start for Germany Under-21 international Bisseck.
Bisseck has previously started in both of Inter’s last two Champions League matches.
