Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco has won praise for his “lavish” performance in yesterday’s Serie A win over Udinese.

L’Interista highlight the excellent scores that the 26-year-old received in the player ratings for the match across Italian media.

Dimarco has become a key player for Inter on the left flank over the past couple seasons.

And the Italian international gave a clear demonstration of why that’s the case yesterday.

The most eye-catching aspect of Dimarco’s performance was his goal. The wingback arrived with perfect timing as Inter won the ball back high up the pitch, and slotted home with the kind of technique that Inter fans have come to expect from him.

But that was far from the only thing that Dimarco gave Inter.

Inter Wingback Federico Dimarco Lauded For “Lavish” Performance Vs Udinese

In the view of Italian media, Dimarco showed why he is the “something extra” that Inter need to keep them really ticking over.

Particularly given how the Nerazzurri dominated possession against Udinese, it was important to have real quality and penetration with their passing.

And Dimarco’s passing was as crisp as ever.

The 26-year-old has become an important driver for the team in possession.

In this sense he has a similar role to players like Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, or former Real Madrid legend Marcelo.

There is no lack of technical quality strewn around the rest of Inter’s squad.

But Dimarco can be the player who really unlocks defenses.

And that is what the former Hellas Verona proved to be yesterday evening.

Whilst Carlos Augusto has certainly shown that he can provide a different sort of option on the left side of the pitch, it is not without reason that Dimarco remains first-choice.

And that is the Italian’s “lavish” performances when he plays like he did yesterday.
