Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi expects that midfielder Davide Frattesi will have a big role against Real Sociedad in the Champions League.

The coach spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 Serie A win over Udinese.

One Inter player who did not have a part to play in this evening’s emphatic win over Udinese was Frattesi.

The former Sassuolo midfielder started on the bench. And he did not come on as a substitute during proceedings.

Instead, it was the rarely-used Stefano Sensi who made a second half cameo appearances as Inzaghi looked to see out the match.

Frattesi has in fact not been a regular starter for Inter this season.

That is not to say that the 24-year-old Italian international has not had his part to play.

But more often than not, when Frattesi has played, it has been from the bench.

Therefore, there could be one or two doubts about the scope of the midfielder’s contribution.

But from the perspective of Inzaghi, there will be plenty of opportunities for Frattesi. Starting with this Tuesday against Real Sociedad.

Inter Coach Inzaghi: Frattesi Will Have His Chance In Champions League Vs Real Sociedad

“I told him to stay calm,” Inter coach Inzaghi said of Frattesi not featuring this evening.

“he was the only doubt I had until this morning,” he noted in terms of his selection.

“There’s no need to specify,” Inzaghi continued. “Davide trains very well. And with the way that he trains he would like more playing time.”

“He has two top players ahead of him,” the coach noted. Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan started this evening.

“He will probably be very useful to us on Tuesday.”

And as far as the pressure of the title race with Juventus, Inzaghi said that “We, the staff and the players, are used to it.”

“Personally, I have to have the strength to make an impact where I can.”

“We know that we can’t do anything about what happens in the other matches,” the Inter coach noted.

“We have to think about ourselves and that’s it.”
