Inter Milan produced a 4-0 win over Udinese to respond to Juventus in the best way possible in the Serie A title race.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper call the victory a “defiant statement of strength.”

Inter were in one sense coming up against more than just Udinese yesterday evening.

The Nerazzurri were also feeling Juventus breathing down their neck.

In fact, at the start of the match, Inter were looking up at the Bianconeri in the Serie A table.

Max Allegri’s team had navigated one of their tougher tests of the season so far, at home against Napoli, in expert fashion. They took three points with a narrow 1-0 win to go temporarily top.

So the pressure was palpable for Inter as they faced off against Udinese.

Inter Win Over Udinese The Perfect Response Vs Juventus

With Juventus showing great consistency in the league, Inter are needing to take three points from just about every match they play in order to keep their title rivals at bay.

And that’s what the Nerazzurri did yesterday.

Against an Udinese team whose position in the table is perhaps harsh on the quality of their squad and performances so far, Inter made light work of it in the end.

The 4-0 scoreline does not particularly flatter the hosts.

Inter gave a blueprint of the kind of absolutely dominant performance that they need to respond to the Bianconeri.

If Juventus have been digging in their heels with narrow margins of victory, Inter haven’t responded in kind.

Rather, it was an “exaggerated” victory from Simone Inzaghi’s team.

Each match will present its own challenges for Inter. But with the team performing like they did yesterday, the feeling is that the results will be sustainable.

So now, it is up to Juventus to make a response of their own.
