Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard has made a partial return to training, and could be fit for this weekend’s Serie A clash with Lazio.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who also report that Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij are both still out of training as they recover from injuries.

Pavard is now just about recovered from his knee injury.

The problem, which the Frenchman picked up in a Serie A clash with Atalanta last month, has kept him out of action for over a month already.

But now a return to the pitch looks to be on the horizon.

A couple of weeks ago, Pavard removed the protective knee brace that he had been wearing during the recovery process.

And now the 27-year-old former Bayern Munich and Stuttgart defender is going full speed ahead in regaining his fitness.

Pavard’s progress in his personalized fitness work has been very quick.

This was evident when the ex-Bayern defender made his way onto the pitch over the weekend. He ran to celebrate with his teammates after a win over Udinese in Serie A on Saturday.

Benjamin Pavard Aiming To Be Fit For Lazio Vs Inter Clash

Pavard was still not part of the squad for yesterday evening’s Champions League match against Real Sociedad.

But there will be a few days for the 2018 World Cup winner to prepare for next Sunday’s match away to Lazio.

Today, Pavard made a partial return to full training with the rest of the group.

And now there will be a few days in which the 27-year-old can aim to improve his condition at full-intensity training.

Therefore, a call-up for Sunday’s clash with the Biancocelesti is far from out of the question.

It then remains to be seen whether Pavard would be ready to play from the start. Alternatively, he could have a place on the bench.

The next few days should shed more light on Pavard’s prospective availability.

Meanwhile, both of Stefan de Vrij and Denzel Dumfries are currently out of training.
