Goalkeeper Yann Sommer has now gone three and a half matches without conceding for Inter Milan.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note that the last player to score against the Swiss was Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Since his arrival at Inter, Sommer has not had to pick the ball out of his own net too many times.

The 34-year-old has made a habit of keeping clean sheets. In fact, he has played more matches in which his team have not conceded a goal than ones in which they have.

Naturally, this is down to more than Sommer individually.

Inter have also proven to be a very stingy team defensively as a whole, The Nerazzurri’s backline has been rock solid no matter who’s played, and the team defend very cohesively as a unit.

But even when the Inter defense gets breached, Sommer has often managed to have his say.

Yann Sommer Goes Three & A Half Matches Without Conceding For Inter

The last time that Sommer saw the ball go past him into the back of the net was in the first half of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A draw against Juventus last month.

That was a shot from Bianconeri striker Vlahovic on the counter.

In truth there was not much Sommer could have done. The Serbian international had a great chance as he found space in the penalty area, and he was clinical.

But after that, Juventus were not able to find a way through. Inter did not concede in the second half.

Sommer did not start in the wild 3-3 draw against Benfica. Emil Audero did.

Then, the Swiss really proved his worth with some excellent saves in a 3-0 Serie A win over Napoli.

Inter and Sommer kept another clean sheet in the league against Udinese.

And then yesterday against La Real, they kept another one.
