Inter Milan fans shouldn’t expect major operations in January as Suning won’t provide the club with sufficient transfer funds.

As Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews) explains, Inter president Steven Zhang would like to lift the Scudetto title at all costs by the end of the season.

This would be the second league triumph of his reign at Viale del Liberazione. It would also place the second golden star on the club’s crest, signifying Inter’s 20th Scudetto title.

But despite this vigorous desire, Zhang and Suning remain reluctant when it comes to splashing the cash to bolster the ranks.

The Roman newspaper notes that the club’s owners have adopted this approach since 2020, forcing the management to navigate amidst tough financial circumstances.

Moreover, Zhang has been physically absent for the largest part. These days, the patron mainly communicates with the club’s directors through phone calls and messages.

Inter Milan Can Only Pull Off Cheap Loan Operations In January Amidst Lack Of Funding From Suning

The report argues that Inter currently have a squad capable of winning the Scudetto. However, a few additions could come in handy, especially on the right flank.

With Juan Cuadrado suffering from a recurring Achilles tendon problem, Inter could use a new wingback in January.

The 35-year-old will have to undergo surgery to repair the issue. Thus, he could miss several months of action.

But in the lack of resources, Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio will have to find a low-cost loan to replace the physically struggling veteran.

So between the lack of funds and the Oaktree loan (with the deadline looming ever closer), the source feels Inter may struggle to compete for the highest honors, at least if the current situation persists.
