Forward Alexis Sanchez and defender Stefan de Vrij are aiming to return for Inter Milan in Saturday’s Serie A match against Lecce.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter currently have a couple players out with injury.

There is forward Sanchez, defender de Vrij, and wingback Denzel Dumfries.

For Dumfries, a likely return date would be the match against Genoa on December 29. The Dutchman will still have to be out for more than a week whilst he recovers.

But for the other two, returns could come sooner.

According to Sky, both of Sanchez and de Vrij could be aiming for a return against Lecce in Inter’s next Serie A match.

Alexis Sanchez & Stefan De Vrij Aiming To Return In Inter Vs Bologna Clash

Both of Sanchez and de Vrij will not be able to recover in time for tomorrow evening’s match against Bologna.

The Nerazzurri face the Rossoblu in their first match of the Coppa Italia of the season. They will take on the Emilians in the round of sixteen of the competition that they have won in each of the past two seasons.

That match is now just over twenty-four hours away.

And neither of Sanchez or de Vrij have any prospect of returning in time for that match.

For the former, the problem is some muscular fatigue.

The Chilean picked up the problem in training. He missed Sunday’s match against Lazio in the league with the injury.

Sanchez had initially had some hope of returning against Bologna, but he was unable to do so.

Meanwhile, de Vrij picked up a thigh problem against Napoli in the Serie A win in Naples earlier this month.

The 31-year-old has missed a few matches with his injury.

But both of Sanchez and de Vrij have a good chance of returning against Lecce, Sky reports. That is what both are targeting.
