Marko Arnautovic will reportedly spearhead Inter Milan’s lineup against Bologna while Benjamin Pavard should make his return to the pitch.

The Nerazzurri are enjoying a fine run in Serie A and have now opened a four-point gap with their closest chasers Juventus.

On Wednesday, Simone Inzaghi’s men will launch their Coppa Italia campaign by hosting Bologna at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

Having won the last two editions of the tournament, the Beneamata certainly don’t plan on exiting from the Round of 16.

Nevertheless, Inzaghi will opt to rotate his ranks and give some of his regular starts some deserved rest.

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Arnautovic will lead the team’s charge against his old Rossoblu teammates.

The 34-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in the summer following a two-year stint at Bologna.

However, the identity of the Austrian’s attacking partner remains unclear, especially with Alexis Sanchez still out with an injury.

The Roman newspaper claims that Inzaghi could alter between Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. In other words, one of the two would start alongside Arnautovic, with the other taking the torch in the second half.

The alternative plan would be fielding a midfielder in a more advanced position, thus switching to a 3-5-1-1 formation.

The main options for this role would be Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Davy Klaassen and Stefano Sensi.

Marko Arnautovic Will Lead The Charge For Inter Milan Vs Bologna – Benjamin Pavard Returns To Action

In other departments, Inzaghi might have to stick to the usual suspects amidst the lack of options. This is particularly true in defense and on the right wing.

But the good news for the manager is the return of Benjamin Pavard. The Frenchman has been out of action since early November but was on the bench last Sunday against Lazio.

The report expects the 27-year-old defender to earn a cameo at some point during the second half.
