Inter Milan are planning to move into their proposed new stadium in the commune of Rozzano for the start of the 2028-29 season.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also report that the Nerazzurri are planning to go with an oval-shaped design for the structure.
Inter are now moving full speed ahead on their plans to build a new stadium in the commune of Rozzano.
By now, the club have all but fully abandoned plans in the San Siro area.
The bureaucratic delays have driven both the Nerazzurri as well as AC Milan to embrace alternative plans to those that they had been working towards to build a new stadium together in place of the existing stadium.
For the Rossoneri, that has meant the San Donato area.
And for Inter, all the focus is on the commune of Rozzano.
Inter have already obtained the exclusive rights to construct a stadium in a suitable area in the commune of Rozzano.
And the Nerazzurri have also formally presented plans to the municipality.
All the necessary green lights are there. So the next step is for the club to conduct surveys of all interested parties before they can secure approval to begin construction on the project.
Inter Targeting 2028-29 Season To Start Playing In New Stadium In Rozzano
The Nerazzurri have begun a series of online questionnaires regarding the new stadium.
The club will poll fans regarding what the preferences are for the new structure.
This will begin with the question of traffic and transportation. But there will be several more questionnaires.
This represents another significant step forward in the direction of building in the Rozzano area.
Inter are determined to get going with plans in the area. And according to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri have a particular timeline in mind.
Inter want to have the stadium ready to move in and start playing at the start of the 2028-29 season.
The Gazzetta also report that Inter are aiming to build a fairly classic oval design for the new structure.
The Nerazzurri will work with architectural design firm Populous, who had previously come up with the proposed design that Inter and Milan had aimed to build in the San Siro area before plans stalled.
