Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Marko Arnautovic in attack, Carlos Augusto on the left, and Yann Bisseck in defense against Lecce. This evening’s Serie A clash is scheduled for 18.00 CET.

Injuries have forced Inzaghi’s hand a bit with his selections this evenings.

Injuries to Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco mean that the Nerazzurrti are without two of their key regular starters.

Meanwhile, Juan Cuadrado has undergone surgery and will be out for quite some time. And then Denzel Dumfries is also still out with a muscle injury.

But one player who is not injured is keeper Yann Sommer.

In front of the 35-year-old, the trio of Yann Bisseck, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni.

Therefore, it’s still the same backline that started against Lazio in the league and Bologna in the Coppa Italia.

Both of Benjamin Pavard and Stefan de Vrij are fit. However, both are just on the bench.

Then in midfield, the trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan starts. That is in fact the trio which has been first-choice since the start of the season.

Marko Arnautovic & Marcus Thuram Start In Attack

Fourthly, in attack, Arnautovic is the player who starts in place of captain Martinez.

Alexis Sanchez is back fit and available. But the Chilean does not start.

Then, Marcus Thuram starts alongside Arnautovic.

The pair, both of whom played in last year’s World Cup final, have been the clear first-choice strike partnership this season.

Meanwhile, on the flanks, Inzaghi desn’t have too much of a decision to make.

The absences of Dimarco, Dumfries, and Cuadrado mean that the coach has just a couple senior players available who are specialists in the wingback roles.

Therefore, at right-wingback, 24-year-old Brazilian international Augusto starts. Then, on the right, ex-Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian starts.
