Both striker Marko Arnautovic and defender Yann Bisseck gave clear “present” responses for Inter Milan with their performances against Lecce.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, praise the rarely-used duo for stepping up and making big contributions to the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 Serie A win.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi went with a strong starting eleven yesterday.

The coach decided to play the first-choice midfield. Meanwhile, regular starters like Matteo Darmian, Alessandro Bastoni, and Marcus Thuram were also on the pitch.

But two players who haven’t played all that much so far this season are Arnautovic and Bisseck.

However, the former had the chance to start given the absence of captain Lautaro Martinez.

And for the latter, it was another chance to shine. Bisseck has had a recent sting of starts whilst Benjamin Pavard and Stefan de Vrij have been out injured.

And even though both Pavard and de Vrij are once again fit, the German kept his place yesterday.

Inzaghi Praises Arnautovic & Bisseck For Displays Vs Lecce

Striker Arnautovic did not look out of place among the regular starters.

The Austrian did not manage to get on the scoresheet. A couple miscued efforts as well as saves from Lecce keeper Wladimiro Falcone meant that his wait for a Serie A goal in an Inter shirt goes on.

But that is not to say there was a lack of end product from Arnautovic.

The ex-Bologna, West Ham United, and Stoke City striker produced a marvellous improvised backheel to assist Nicolo Barella for Inter’s second goal to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Bisseck continued to grow into his place in the Inter backline.

The 23-year-old’s goal was the most eye-catching aspect of his performance.

Bisseck scored Inter’s opener towards the end of the first half, his first ever for the club. This followed an effort which had hit the crossbar earlier in the half.

But in truth, the goal was only the icing on the cake for Bisseck.

The German did his main job of defending with ample composure, And in possession, he was an added value for the Nerazzurri.

Like Arnautovic, there was little indication from Bisseck’s performance that he wouldn’t belong on the pitch with the rest of his more established teammates.
