Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck got his first ever goal for the Nerazzurri in yesterday’s 2-0 Serie A win over Lecce.

The 23-year-old scored the opening goal towards the end of the first half.

It was a towering header from Bisseck to meet an accurate delivery by Hakan Calhanoglu. This proved to be a vital goal for Inter in the match. And it also had a lot of significance for Bisseck personally.

Football stats account Opta highlighted the importance of Bisseck’s goal in a tweet.

They wrote, “2000 – Yann Bisseck is the first Inter defender born since 2000 to score in #SerieA; in general, he is only the second player born since 2000 to score for the Nerazzurri in the top flight, after Sebastiano Esposito (2002). Resource.”
