Defender Matteo Darmian is proud to have extended his contract with Inter Milan until the end of June 2025.

The 34-year-old spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, to give his thoughts on what staying at the Nerazzurri means to him.

Darmian has officially put pen to paper on a new deal with Inter.

The Italian international will be at the club until at least the end of June 2025.

That will make it five years at Inter for Darmian.

The veteran former Manchester United, Torino, and Parma defender has only become more and more important to the team as the years have gone by.

In his first season with the club, Darmian helped Inter to the Serie A title. That was the first time that the Nerazzurri had gotten their hands on the title in eleven years.

And in each of the past three seasons, the 34-year-old has further demonstrated his versatility and reliability.

Of receiving a contract extension, Darmian said that “It means a lot to me.”

“I’m very proud of this extension, and of wearing this shirt for more time,” he continued.

Darmian said that “I’m very happy to have the trust of everyone. The staff, my teammates, the fans.”

The 34-year-old reflected that “I’ve always been convinced of my abilities.”

“I’ve always tried to give my all since the day I arrived.”

Darmian said that “It’s a source of great pride for me to see the trust, sacrifices, and effort repaid from the club.”

As far as his best qualities, Darmian said that he feels he is “Reliable, diligent, and focused.”

“Inter has given me a lot,” the defender added.

“It has allowed me to win many trophies,” he noted. “I hope to keep doping so in the future.”

“The important thing is to have the right determination, and to always push forward.”
