Serie B side Lecco have inquired about signing Inter Milan striker Eddie Salcedo during the January transfer window.
Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports in a tweet that the Lombard side are ready to rival Como for the 22-year-old’s signature.
Young striker Salcedo is currently on loan with Eldense in the Spanish Segunda Division.
But it looks as though the Italian’s future may not be in Spain.
According to Di Marzio, clubs in Serie B are also keen on signing the Inter-owned striker.
Como have already made contact with Inter about signing Salcedo, he reports. But they are not the only team in the Italian second division who want the 22-year-old.
Lecco Inquire About Signing Inter Owned Striker Eddie Salcedo
Di Marzio reports that Lecco have also made an inquiry about loaning Salcedo.
And according to the Sky transfer expert, the Lombard side could be in a position to win the race to sign the Italian youth team international ahead of Como.
During the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, the young Italian striker was on loan at Hellas Verona. Playing for the Gialloblu, Salcedo developed a fair bit under coach Ivan Juric.
Then, in the summer of 2021, he made the switch to join Spezia on loan.
During the following season in Liguria, Salcedo found playing time difficult to come by. The fact that Spezia were fighting off relegation and largely relied on experienced and proven players certainly didn’t help his cause.
Last summer, Salcedo joined Bari on loan in Serie B.
There, he spent the first half of the season.
However, in the January transfer window, Salcedo made the switch to his former club Genoa.
It had been the Grifone who had sold Salcedo to Inter in the first place.
The young striker helped the Ligurians achieve promotion to Serie A, bouncing straight back after a season in the second division.
