Lazio duo Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto will recover in time to take on Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup.

The Nerazzurri will clash heads with the Roman side in the first edition of the expanded Supercoppa Italiana.

The two sides will meet at the Al-Awwal Stadium in Saudi Arabia on January 19th. The winner will qualify for the final to take on the side that prevails in the other semi-final between Napoli and Fiorentina.

According to Il Messaggero via FcInter1908, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has received a major boost with two pivotal players heading towards recovery.

The source claims that Immobile and Luis Alberto will both recover ahead of schedule. They should make themselves available at the coach’s disposal ahead of the Super Cup.

The Italy striker hasn’t been enjoying his most prolific campaign, but he remains a protagonist for the club. The Lazio captain has contributed with four Serie A goals and three in the Champions League this season.

Lazio Duo Ciro Immobile & Luis Alberto Could Be Available For Inter Milan Clash In Super Cup

The 33-year-old missed his side’s most recent encounter with a hamstring injury. But recent tests have halved the player’s recovery period.

The report claims that Immobile could even make his return to action in next weekend’s Derby della Capitale against AS Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

Moreover, the source believes that Luis Alberto did even better. The Spanish playmaker has been able to run in training in addition to practicing with the ball.

The duo will undergo further tests next week before confirming their availability.
