A report in the Italian press believes Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi would be at risk if his side fails to clinch the Scudetto this season.

The Nerazzurri appointed the 47-year-old following Antonio Conte’s departure in the summer of 2021.

The former Lazio coach has thus far failed to replicate his predecessor’s league exploits, with AC Milan and Napoli lifting the title in the two previous campaigns.

Nevertheless, Inzaghi has proven himself to be a cup expert. He won the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup twice and reached the Champions League final last year before succumbing at the hands of Man City despite a courageous effort.

But according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri coach must deliver the Scudetto title this time around. Otherwise, he risks losing his job.

The Roman newspaper claims that Inzaghi’s position at the club remains solid for now. But it could change in the face of another disappointment in Serie A.

In such a case, Inzaghi would need another brilliant Champions League campaign to salvage his spell at Appiano Gentile.

Luckily for the coach, he appears to be on the right path, with Inter leading the Serie A table, albeit with only a couple of points ahead of Juventus.

The Italian tactician has a contract with the club valid until June 2025.

The source also discusses the future of some of the other renowned Serie A managers.

The report believes Stefano Pioli’s cycle at AC Milan has reached its expiry. Therefore, the two parties could part ways at the end of the season.

Moreover, the fate of Jose Mourinho remains uncertain. His contract with AS Roma will expire at the end of the campaign.

Even Juventus coach Max Allegri could decide to put an end to his second stint in Turin once the season concludes, claims the report.
