Inter Milan stars Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco are back in the squad, but they reportedly start on the bench against Hellas Verona.

The Argentine striker and the Italian wingback both sustained muscle strains in the aftermath of the club’s defeat at the hands of Bologna in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 a couple of weeks ago.

The key duo missed the club’s last two Serie A fixtures. In their absence, the Nerazzurri registered a home victory over Lecce and a 1-1 draw away to Genoa.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, Martinez and Dimarco have now recovered and will be available at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal starting from this weekend’s clash against Verona.

Nevertheless, the source expects both stars to settle for a place on the bench. Hence, they would make their return to action as second-half substitutes.

This means that the Nerazzurri manager will hand another starting berth for summer signings Marko Arnautovic and Carlos Augusto.

The Austrian veteran has been playing alongside Marcus Thuram in attack in the absence of the Inter captain.

The 34-year-old finally scored his first Serie A goal of the season last weekend, breaking the deadlock against Genoa.

For his part, Augusto has been occupying the left flank as the natural candidate to replace Dimarco.

The Brazilian has now made 25 appearances for Inter across all competitions, contributing with a single goal and an assist.

But while Sky tips the scale in favor of Arnautovic and Augusto, the source believes that Inzaghi will make his final decision on the matter following Friday’s training session.

The encounter between the Nerazzurri and the Gialloblu kicks off tomorrow at 12:30 CET. It takes place at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
