The agent of Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio has revealed that the 26-year-old has long felt an attachment to Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TVPlay, via FCInterNews, Di Gregorio’s agent Carlo Alberto Belloni also stated that he has always recommended that the keeper try to one day play for Inter.

Di Gregorio is an Inter youth academy graduate.

But the keeper left the Nerazzurri to join Monza on a permanent basis in the summer of 2022. He had previously spent two seasons on loan with the Brianzoli in Serie B.

Di Gregorio’s performances for Monza have been excellent in the top flight.

The former Inter keeper has more than played his part in keeping the Lombard team in a comfortable midtable position.

And Di Gregorio’s form has continued to be excellent for Monza.

So much so, in fact, that there have been transfer links to some of Serie A’s biggest clubs for the Italian.

Among these have been Di Gregorio’s former club Inter.

At the moment, the Nerazzurri have Yann Sommer as a reliable Number One. But the Swiss international is already 35 years old. At some point the Nerazzurri will have to replace him.

Agent Of Michele Di Gregorio Confirms Feeling Of Connection To Inter

“I’ve been representing him since 2012,” Belloni said. “And when he signed with me I told him that his goal had to be to reach Inter.”

“I think he has the potential today,” the agent continued.

“At the moment, however, I don’t want to say that any team is closer to signing him than others,” he said.

“There have been some informal chats, but nothing more than that.”

Belloni said that “From a personal point of view it’s obvious that he’s remained very close to the Nerazzurri given that he went into the youth academy at the age of six.”

“Then he became the captain of the Primavera team at a young team. He won numerous titles there.”
