Inter Milan are reportedly no longer interested in acquiring Andrea Colpani, as they instead plan to hand Valentin Carboni a fair chance next season.

Both players should be on the pitch when Monza host the Nerazzurri at the U-Power Stadium on Saturday night.

Colpani became one of the main breakout stars of the Serie A campaign following an impressive start to the season.

On the other hand, Carboni is spending his campaign on loan at Monza, but will return to his parent club Inter in June.

According to Tuttusport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri have dropped their interest in Colpani.

As the source explains, the Serie A leaders are edging closer to signing Piotr Zielinski. Therefore, there might not be any room for another investment in the midfield department.

Colpani was firing on all cylinders at the start of the season, scoring six goals. This earned him a call-up to the Italian national team.

However, his form has declined recently while the goals have dried up.

Inter Milan Would Rather Give A Chance To Valentin Carboni Rather Than Buying Andrea Colpani

Therefore, the Nerazzurri have reportedly lost interest in his services, preferring to focus on other options.

On the contrary, Carboni’s stock is on the rise.

The 18-year-old’s playing time has increased recently, especially after finding the back of the net against Juventus.

The Argentine has now contributed with two goals and three assists. He’s coming off a sensational display against Frosinone last weekend.

Thus, the Nerazzurri could be tempted to bet on their own teenager rather than splashing the cash on a new player.
