Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez will make a decision about his future at Inter Milan after the Supercoppa Italiana.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 34-year-old will wait until at least next week to make a definitive choice.

Sanchez has not necessarily made the impact he’ll have hoped for over the first half of the season.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona veteran arrived on a free transfer.

This came off the back of an outstanding single season at Marseille. The Chilean’s exploits in the south of France were enough to convince the Nerazzurri that he could still be a high-quality backup option.

And Sanchez himself believed that he would be able to contribute at a similarly high level at Inter.

Perhaps there was a sense that the veteran forward had “unfinished business” from his first spell at the Nerazzurri.

Alexis Sanchez To Make Decision On Inter Future After Supercoppa Italiana

That’s not exactly how it’s worked out, though.

Sanchez has managed just two goals so far this season, both in the Champions League.

And according to Tuttosport, an early exit could follow.

Sanchez is under contract with Inter until the end of June. He signed a one-year deal with the club last summer.

But a departure during the January transfer window cannot entirely be ruled out.

Sanchez has already rejected some offers.

There was interest in the Chilean international during the month of December.

But now with the January transfer window open, Sanchez could have the opportunity to seek a club where he’ll get more time on the pitch.

In any event, Sanchez will certainly be part of the Inter squad for the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana.

This will be an opportunity for him to add another trophy to his cabinet.

Then, Sanchez will make his decision.

If Sanchez leaves, Tuttosport adds, Inter’s likely course of action would be to try and recall Valentin Carboni from his loan at Monza rather than signing a new forward.
