Statistics show that wingback Federico Dimarco is having his best season yet for Inter Milan.

Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it highlight how the 26-year-old has continue to grow in terms of his output and the quality of his performances, even despite his playing time decreasing slightly.

Few players are as important to the way that Inter play as Dimarco.

The Italian international has become an important hub of creativity down the left flank for the Nerazzurri.

With his assist for Lautaro Martinez against Monza last weekend, Dimarco took his total for the season to three goals and five assists.

That means that Dimarco has reached eight league goal contributions in total. After twenty matches, he has already exceeded his seven from last season.

And the Gazzetta note that this is no fluke – it is a reflection of the consistent rate at which Dimarco is producing quality on the pitch in Serie A.

Federico Dimarco Enjoying Best Season Yet For Inter, Statistics Show

Dimarco takes 54 touches per match on average. And he completes 28 passes per match, with an accuracy of 84.9%.

The fact that Dimarco very frequently attempts ambitious long and diagonal passes makes that statistic especially impressive.

The Italian does not just contribute directly to goals.

It is also Dimarco who often switches play to create dangerous attacks on the right side of the pitch.

Dimarco has actually dropped off somewhat in that regard from last season.

The 26-year-old has gone from 2.75 long passes to 1.47 per match.

But the level of direct involvement in the final third has increased all the more. Dimarco has gone from 1.9 key passes per match to 2.12.

And the Nerazzurri wingback has created ten big chances in Serie A so far this season.

Dimarco has actually played one fewer match than last season, the Gazzetta notes.

And due to regularly coming off the pitch as a substitute in the second half, and slightly earlier than last season on average, Dimarco plays three fewer minutes per match on average.

But that has not hindered the Italian’s production.

On the contrary, taking that bit more time for a breather seems to have helped Dimarco keep his energy.

And that has resulted in the 26-year-old being more alert and directly involved when it matters most.
