Matteo Darmian and Stefan de Vrij will start for Inter Milan against Napoli this evening, whilst Alessandro Bastoni is a doubt.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who predict just one change to the Nerazzurri lineup in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
Inter are just a few hours away from fighting to win their third consecutive Supercoppa trophy.
Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has just about made his decisions regarding the starting lineup.
The Gazzetta anticipate that the coach won’t tinker much with the team that beat Lazio in the semifinal.
Rather, Inzaghi aims to once again play more or less the strongest team available to him.
That means that the midfield and attack will remain unchanged. And on the left flank, Federico Dimarco is set to keep his place.
But there will be one change in defense.
And it will be an enforced one.
Darmian & De Vrij To Start For Inter Vs Napoli – Bastoni A Doubt
The Gazzetta report that 24-year-old Italian international Bastoni is a major fitness doubt for this evening’s match.
Bastoni had been feeling some thigh pain after Friday’s match against Lazio.
Therefore, there is doubt over whether or not the 24-year-old can even be part of the squad this evening.
And there would be basically no chance of Inzaghi risking Bastoni from the start.
Therefore, the Gazzetta anticipate, Stefan de Vrij will come into the team. The Dutchman will start in the centre of the back three, whilst Francesco Acerbi will shift over to the left.
Meanwhile, the one slight doubt that Inzaghi has concerns the right flank.
Matteo Darmian started at right-wingback against Lazio. However, Denzel Dumfries is also vying for the role.
But according to the Gazzetta, it is former Manchester United and Torino veteran Darmian who will keep his place.
