Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Stefan de Vrij in defense and Matteo Darmian on the wing against Napoli. This evening’s Coppa Italia final is scheduled for 20.00 CET.

Inzaghi has decided to make just one change to the Nerazzurri starting eleven from the semifinal against Lazio.

That is the introduction of Dutch international defender de Vrij.

The 31-year-old takes the place of Alessandro Bastoni in the back three. The reason for this is that the Italian international is injured.

But one player who is not injured is keeper Yann Sommer.

In front of the 35-year-old, the trio of de Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, and Benjamin Pavard starts.

Then in midfield, the trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan starts. That is in fact the trio which has been first-choice since the start of the season.

Matteo Darmian Starts On The Right Flank

Next, on the flanks, it is two Italian internationals.

Federico Dimarco starts at left-wingback. And then at right-wingback, former Manchester United and Parma veteran Darmian gets the nod.

Therefore, Denzel Dumfries is on the bench once again. As is January signing Tajon Buchanan.

Lastly, in attack, it is the first-choice partnership that starts.

Therefore, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram both start.
