Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez denies doing an interview that has been circulating in the news this morning.

As we reported earlier today, the Nerazzurri skipper charged his troops with an inspirational speech following the Italian Super Cup triumph in Riyadh.

However, the entire story now appears to be a fabrication on the part of La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 26-year-old swiftly dismissed the news in a reply on social media in a rather irritated tone.

The Argentine labels the whole story as a downright lie, insisting he never gave an interview to the journalist on the flight back to Italy.

Lautaro demanded the publication to stop inventing stories and putting words in his mouth.

“I’m sorry, but what are you saying? I did an interview with you on the plane?” posted the World Cup winner on his Instagram account via FcInterNews.

“Stop inventing words that never came out of my mouth.”

It should be noted that the said article praised Martinez for his leadership skills on and off the pitch. It also suggested that the striker is the first charismatic captain to fill the void left since Javier Zanetti’s departure.

Inter Milan Captain Lautaro Martinez Rages Against Fake Interview

But despite these honeyed words, Martinez wasn’t amused. Instead, he remained hellbent on revealing the truth by refusing to claim words he never said.

The Inter captain will now turn his attention to the pitch as a vital clash awaits his team on Sunday night. They will travel to Tuscany to take on Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi.

The Nerazzurri will be looking to secure three valuable points ahead of the crucial Scudetto showdown against Juventus in the following weekend.
