Leicester City have reportedly managed to unblock the transfer of Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi who should be able to join them in the coming days.

The Foxes have identified the 28-year-old as the right profile to bolster their ranks for the remainder of the season.

The club currently leads the English Championship, seeking a swift return to the Premier League following last season’s devastating relegation.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the two clubs have already found an agreement for the transfer. The Nerazzurri should collect around 2 million euros from the operation, since the player is currently running on an expiring contract.

However, Leicester’s finances are apparently under scrutiny from the English Football Federation.

As the source tells it, the FA’s initial negative review derailed the transfer.

Nevertheless, Leicester have recently ended Cesare Casadei’s loan spell, sending the promising youngster back to Chelsea.

This maneuver allowed the Foxes to save on the player’s wages for the rest of the season, thus opening up room for Sensi’s arrival.

Therefore, the FA has now given the EPL 2015/16 champions the green light to sign the 28-year-old midfielder.

The player will now be able to complete his transfer to the East Midlands in the next few days.

The former Sassuolo man will work under the guidance of his compatriot Enzo Maresca.

Sensi will be looking to revive his career with his maiden experience abroad.

The once-promising midfielder has been plagued with recurring injuries that hindered his progress.

This season, the Italy international has only made four appearances for Simone Inzaghi’s side across all competitions, all coming off the bench.
