Juventus have reportedly dropped out of the race for Piotr Zielinski, thus paving the way for this transfer to Inter Milan.

The 29-year-old’s contract with Napoli will expire at the end of the season. The two parties failed to reach an agreement over a renewal.

Hence, the Poland international will likely walk away in June, ending a memorable stint that began in 2016.

For their part, Inter are looking to seize the opportunity and make Zielinski their latest free-agent coup.

The Nerazzurri have registered significant progress on this front, placing themselves as the ultimate favorites for the midfielder’s signature.

For their part, Juventus also considered making a move for the former Udinese man. Bianconeri Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli was the one who brought the player to Napoli in 2016.

But according to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the Turin-based giants have decided to abandon the pursuit and focus on other transfer targets.

As the source explains, the Bianconeri still rate the Polish star, but made this decision based on tactical considerations.

Regardless of the reason, this development is a further boost for Inter’s chances of landing the player. The uncontested Nerazzurri now have a clear path towards the finish line.

This season, Zielinski scored three goals and delivered as many assists across all competitions.

The Polish midfielder has recently lost his starting spot as Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri decided to drop the 4-3-3 formation in favor of a 3-4-2-1 system.
