Juventus coach Max Allegri will not risk defender Danilo picking up a suspension against Empoli ahead of next weekend’s Serie A match against Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
32-year-old Brazilian international Danilo is currently one booking away from suspension.
Therefore, if the former Manchester City and Real Madrid man were to pick up a yellow card in this evening’s match, he would then miss next week’s match against Inter.
The Bianconeri host nineteenth-place Empoli later today.
And according to the Gazzetta, Juventus coach has decided that Danilo will not play a role in that match.
He does not want to risk having his captain out with suspension next Sunday.
Allegri Won’t Risk Danilo Vs Empoli Ahead Of Inter Showdown
Danilo is an important figure for Juventus under Allgeri.
The Brazilian has become a regular part of the Bianconeri’s starting eleven since Allegri took charge. The ex-Porto man’s versatility has helped him adapt to the back three that Allegri sets the team up in.
And more than that Danilo is also a player with plenty of experience and leadership.
The 32-year-old is the player who wears the captain’s armband for Juventus.
Danilo also has no shortage of title-winning experience. He has won several league titles with the likes of Porto, Real, and Man City.
This has proven to be an important factor in a young Juventus team which, uncharacteristically for the Bianconeri, does not contain a lot of title-winning experience.
Therefore, Allegri considers it of utmost importance to have Danilo available next weekend.
Juventus will travel to face Inter in a match that will pit first and second in the Serie A table.
Considering the importance of that match, Allegri will not risk having Danilo pick up a booking this evening against Empoli.
