Juventus are optimistic that all of Adrian Rabiot, Federico Chiesa, and Weston McKennie can all be fully fit to face Inter Milan.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Against Empoli over this past weekend, Juventus did not quite have a full-strength squad available.
France international midfielder Rabiot was not available due to suspension.
Moreover, the 28-year-old has also been dealing with a minor calf problem.
The timeline for Rabiot’s recovery has been that he should be back sometime around the start of February.
And according to Sky, the former Paris Saint-Germain should be fit in time to face Inter. Rabiot should return to training soon, and then he can build up some match-fitness for Sunday’s match.
Given that Rabiot is close to the first name on the teamsheet for Juventus coach Max Allegri, his availability will certainly come as a boost.
Juventus Optimistic That Rabiot, Chiesa & McKennie Fit To Face Inter
Rabiot is not the only Bianconeri midfielder whose availability is in doubt for Sunday’s match, however.
US international Weston McKennie also suffered a minor knock during Juventus’s Serie A draw against Empoli over the weekend.
McKennie will hardly be a long-term absence for Juventus. However, there may be one or two questions about whether the former Schalke and Leeds United man can be at his best on Sunday.
According to Sky, however, the feeling behind the scenes is fairly optimistic.
Juventus expect that McKennie will be able to start against Inter in the potential Serie A title-decider.
One player who will not likely start, according to Sky, is Chiesa.
The former Fiorentina forward will likely only be able to start on the bench.
With Arkardiusz Milik suspended, this will likely mean that Kenan Yildiz starts against the Nerazzurri.
However, Chiesa should certainly be ready to make an impact from the bench.
