Mehdi Taremi and Valentin Carboni will be the two players who complete a new-look Inter Milan attack in the 2024-25 season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri already have a clear idea of how they are going to revamp in the striker positions for next campaign.

One thing that looks fairly clear is that, barring surprises, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will both be Inter players next season.

That duo has been the first-choice strike partnership this season.

And the Argentine and the Frenchman have been in outstanding form. They have scored 31 goals between them in all competitions.

On the other hand, it has been the backup options who have underwhelmed this season.

Ex-Premier League veterans Marko Arnautovic and Alexis Sanchez both joined Inter last summer.

And the pair have each had one or two flashes of quality in an Inter shirt this season. But broadly, there has been a big drop-off from the regular starters to the backup options.

Taremi & Carboni Part Of Inter Revamp In Attack For 2024-25 Season

Given the state of the attack this season, Inter have already been plotting improvements for next time around.

A key part of these plans has been the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Porto and Iran striker Taremi.

The 31-year-old had been on Inter’s radar since at least last summer. However, the Nerazzurri never moved for Taremi at the time.

But with the Iranian available on a free transfer when his contract with Porto runs out at the end of June, Inter will bring him in before the start of next season.

Inter have an agreement with Taremi and his representatives. They have already informed Porto of this fact officially.

Therefore, barring any shock u-turns, Taremi will be an Inter player next season.

Meanwhile, young attacking midfielder Carboni is currently on loan at Monza.

The Argentine teenager has been working his way into the starting eleven for the Brianzoli.

And this has attracted some transfer interest. The Gazzetta note that Inter have already turned down an offer of €20 million from Fiorentina.

Therefore, it looks as though Carboni will have a spot in the first-team plans at Inter next season.

As far as what that means for the two backup strikers, things are not entirely certain.

As far as Sanchez, the former Arsenal and Barcelona man looks all but certain to depart. His contract with Inter runs out at the end of June.

Meanwhile, Arnautovic is under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2025.

The Austrian could depart one year early, after just one season at Inter, anyway. But on the other hand, the Gazzetta note, Arnautovic could still stay in the squad as attacking depth.
