Inter Milan have forged an alliance with AC Milan and Juventus in the battle for Serie A reforms.

While the trio are fierce rivals on the pitch, and even on the transfer market, they are reportedly working together to impose their unified vision for a more competitive league.

The Serie A clubs have been in constant talks with the FIGC over the reforms in recent weeks.

But while all parties agree on the need to introduce changes, finding common ground remains a daunting task.

According to ANSA via FcInterNews, Juventus, Milan and Inter are pushing for the number of participants to be reduced from 20 to 18.

The German Bundesliga has long adopted the format. Moreover, the French Ligue 1 followed suit by starting the current campaign with 18 clubs.

Therefore, the three Italian giants believe that this would be the way to go for Serie A as well.

The Northern trio held a meeting with FIGC president Gabriele Gravina on Friday afternoon to discuss this particular matter.

Inter Milan Form Alliance With AC Milan & Juventus In Serie A Reforms Battle

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta represented the Nerazzurri. The meeting also included Juventus officials Maurizio Scannavino and Francesco Calvo as well as AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni. The latter joined the summit through a video call.

Obviously, this proposition won’t sit well with the smaller Serie A clubs. This would make them more vulnerable to relegation.

But we shall see if other top clubs will join the coalition of Inter and company, the likes of AS Roma, Lazio and Napoli.
