Inter Milan Players are ready to continue their successful season in the Champions League with a match-up against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 stage of the competition.

The Nerazzuri are closer and closer to the start of the Champions League knock-out rounds, hoping they will be adding a couple of more trophies to the Super Coppa won a few weeks ago.

They made an important step in winning the Scudetto this year with a 1-0 win over Juventus last week, steering clear of their main Seria A competitors by 4 points.

The atmosphere in Simone Inzaghi’s camp can not be better coming up to the clash with Atletico Madrid on February 20th at Guiseppe Meazza.

Inter hasn’t lost a game in regulation across all competitions since their defeat to Sassuolo in September and is looking really dominant in the domestic league.

They hold both the best offense and defence in the Serie A this season, with 51 goals and only 10 goals conceded.

The wing-back formation with three defenders in the back is proving to be very efficient for Inter, as they have conceded only 3 goals in their last 9 matches in Serie A.

It will be interesting to see how they will deal with the high-scoring Atletico Madrid, as the Spanish club has played a lot more dynamic football than in previous seasons.

Inter Milan Hosting Atletico Madrid in Great Form

Diego Simeone’s squad is going into the knockout rounds scoring 17 goals in 6 Champions League group stage games, while also scoring around 2 goals per game in La Liga.

However, Atletico will have their own defensive worries as the Nerazzurri have looked unstoppable on offense this season.

Even though only Lautaro Martinez has scored 2 goals in the Champions League group stage, the Milano club has already hit the 50-goal mark in Seria A.

Martinez is the best scorer in the Italian league with 19 goals, while Marcus Thuram proves to be the best free transfer deal this season, adding 8 goals and 7 assists. Of course, we can’t forget Hakan Calhanoglu, who is instrumental in creating attacking opportunities for Inter in the midfield.

Even though online betting sites are giving a slight advantage to Inter Milan with odds fluctuating around 2, the match-up will be far from easy. There are still two Serie A matches to be played in the meantime, one being a tough trip to Roma at Stadio Olimpico.

On the other side, Atletico will have a tough schedule on their own with a cup game against Bilbao and La Liga fixtures against Sevilla and Las Palmas.

Considering the fact that Inter has been amazing on their home ground, we can the Milano club as a slight favorite to win this match.
