New AS Roma starlet Tommaso Baldanzi looks back on last season’s winner against Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

The 20-year-old has recently signed for the capital side, completing a mid-season switch from Empoli for 10 million euros.

The attacking midfielder has already made his debut for the Giallorossi, coming off the bench in last Monday’s rooting win over Cagliari.

This weekend, the youngster will be hoping to earn some playing time when the Nerazzurri come to town.

The two sides will lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.

Baldanzi already has enchanting memories against Simone Inzaghi’s men. He stunned the San Siro crowds by scoring a spectacular winner for Empoli in January 2023.

The Beneamata played an entire half with a man down following Milan Skriniar’s dismissal. The Tuscans pounced on the situation to escape with all three points thanks to Baldanzi’s strike.

“It was a difficult match. But then it went well because Inter had to play with a numerical disadvantage,” noted the young midfielder in an interview with Roma’s official podcast via FcInter1908.

“My goal? It was great. Really great strike.”

The new Giallorossi signing also named Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni among the toughest defenders he came across in Serie A.

“We have so many great defenders in Serie A. [Juventus captain] Danilo and Bastoni are some of the best in the league.”

The Empoli youth product has thus far made 15 league appearances this term, contributing with a couple of goals.

The youngster gave the Nerazzurri a favor this term by scoring the equalizer in Empoli’s 1-1 draw against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, thus costing Max Allegri’s men two valuable points in the Scudetto race.
