Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has resumed training with his teammates before Friday’s encounter against Salernitana.

The 24-year-old suffered a thigh injury in the aftermath of the club’s victory over Juventus in the Derby d’Italia ten days ago.

The Italian’s condition ruled him out of last weekend’s clash against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

While Simone Inzaghi’s men prevailed in his absence, the midfielder will be eager to offer his contribution in the coming fixtures.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, Frattesi rejoined group training on Wednesday.

The source perceives it as a significant sign ahead of Friday’s contest against Salernitana. Sky thus expects him to receive a call-up.

This is a timely boost for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi who should be able to rely on his midfielder’s services.

As we reported earlier today, the manager is looking to ring the changes to the starting lineup.

Inzaghi will rest several key players against the Granata, allowing them to restore their energy levels ahead of Tuesday’s big showdown against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.

Inter Milan Midfielder Davide Frattesi Recovers Ahead Of Salernitana Encounter

Hence, the Nerazzurri tactician could introduce Frattesi from the get-go, while dropping either Nicolo Barella or Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the bench.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if the former Sassuolo man will be fit enough to start.

On another note, the source reveals that three Inter players were absent from training.

The first is Juan Cuadrado who is still recovering from an Achilles tendon surgery. For his part, Francesco Acerbi sustained a slight muscle injury against Roma and will be hoping to recover soon.

Finally, second-choice goalkeeper Emil Audero missed training due to flu.
