A report in the Italian press highlights a common feature between Inter Milan and Spanish giants Real Madrid this season.

Both clubs have been enjoying a positive campaign thus far and currently lead their respective domestic leagues.

Los Blancos have begun their Champions League knockout-stage venture with a 1-0 away victory over RB Leipzig in the first leg of the Round of 16.

On the other hand, the Nerazzurri will take on Real’s crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid next week.

But as La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInterNews) notes, Inter have only sustained two defeats across all competitions this season. In this regard, they are on terms with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Simone Inzaghi’s men suffered a solitary loss in Serie A this season, falling short at home against Sassuolo.

Their other defeat came at the hands of Thiago Motta’s Bologna in the Coppa Italia Round of 16. The Emilians eliminated the Nerazzurri following a shocking extra-time comeback.

In this regard, Inter are quite similar to Real Madrid.

Inter Milan And Real Madrid Have Similar Records This Season

Los Merengues have also succumbed to a single defeat in La Liga this season, and another one in the Copa del Rey. They were both courtesy of Atletico Madrid.

Moreover, the two clubs emerged victorious in their domestic Super Cup tournaments which were both held in Riyadh. They also remain unbeaten in the Champions League.

As the source notes, the only team in Europe’s Top Five leagues that remains unbeaten across all competitions is Bayer Leverkusen.

Xabi Alonso’s men are having a sensational campaign. But unlike Inter and Real Madrid, the Bundesliga leaders do not participate in the Champions League, but instead compete in the Europa League this term.
