There are three reasons which together could persuade Inter Milan to stay at the San Siro rather than building a new stadium in Rozzano.

These are highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews.

As the Corriere della Sera highlight, Inter’s priority is clear.

The Nerazzurri have decided on the commune of Rozzano as the location for a new stadium. And that is where Inter have been doing the work to start construction.

Yesterday’s meeting with Milan Mayor Beppe Sala did not change the Nerazzurri’s mind on the matter. Inter continue to have significant skepticism about the feasibility of such a project.

Among the club’s issues is the fact that the works would almost certainly conflict with the teams’ playing schedules.

Given that the San Siro is also in use in the summer for concerts and other events, Inter consider it unlikely that the city could carry out works according to plan without disrupting stadium use.

But, the Corriere della Sera suggest, there are some factors that could still push Inter in the direction of staying at the San Siro.

Three Factors That Could Make Inter Reconsider Staying In San Siro

One factor that the newspaper note is simply the cost of building a new stadium.

Whilst Inter hope that a new stadium would significantly increase revenues, the initial cost would be very high.

Then, there is the matter of the bureaucratic red tape with building a new stadium.

Bureaucratic delays are what pushed Inter and Milan away from trying to replace the San Siro.

But there could be entirely different challenges to building in Rozzano.

And lastly, the Corriere della Sera note, there would also be a risk to losing the visibility and marketability that comes from playing in an historic stadium as iconic as the San Siro.
