Carlos Augusto and Kristjan Asllani will both start for Inter Milan against Genoa, whilst Alexis Sanchez is also favourite to start.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have to work around the absences of a couple key players on Monday.

One of those is defender Alessandro Bastoni. It is set and stone that the 24-year-old will miss the match, as he will be serving a one-match suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.

And Inzaghi is ready to turn to a solution that has increasingly become his main backup for Bastoni.

25-year-old Brazilian international Augusto will play in defense against Genoa.

The former Monza wingback’s primary position may be at left-wingback. But he has played on the left of the back three to good effect on a few occasions this season, including recently against Lecce.

Meanwhile, in terms of injuries, Inzaghi should have three important players at his disposal against Genoa.

Defender Francesco Acerbi, striker Marcus Thuram, and midfielder Davide Frattesi are all on track to be available.

But one player who will miss Monday’s match is Hakan Calhanoglu. The former AC Milan midfielder continues to recover from a thigh strain.

Therefore, there will be another chance for Kristjan Asllani to start.

The Albanian has started in Inter’s last couple matches in place of Calhanoglu. And he has even been one of Inter’s outstanding performers against Lecce and Atalanta.

So Inzaghi will have no doubts about trusting Asllani to fill in again.

Lastly, the Corriere anticipate, Alexis Sanchez will regain his place in attack.

The Chilean had started alongside Lautaro Martinez against Lecce, seeing out the match. However, Marko Arnautovic had been the one to start against Atalanta.

According to the Corriere, Sanchez will partner Martinez in attack against Genoa.
