Inter Milan could offer attacking midfielder Gaetano Oristanio as part of a bid for Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com. The outlet anticipates that the Brianzoli would want at least 20 million for their keeper, but that a player-plus-cash offer could entice them.

Di Gregorio has emerged as a major goalkeeping target for Inter.

The 26-year-old is a Nerazzurri youth academy product. He has admitted that he is a long-time supporter of the team.

And Di Gregorio has certainly proven himself in Serie A.

Since helping Monza to promotion to the top flight two seasons ago, Di Gregorio has been one of the outstanding keepers in the Italian top flight.

Inter Could Offer Oristanio + Cash To Monza For Di Gregorio

There would be one very significant hurdle in any pursuit of Di Gregorio for Inter, however: the player’s price tag.

Inter sold Di Gregorio to Monza on a permanent basis in 2022. But they have no buyback option or anything similar on the Italian youth team international.

And Di Gregorio’s performances in Serie A have seen his price tag rise significantly.

CM report that Monza would certainly expect no less than 20 million as a transfer fee for their keeper on the basis of his form since reaching the top flight.

That kind of fee would not exactly be financially unattainable for Inter. But it would be a significant investment for a club in the Nerazzurri’s financial position.

So Inter could explore possible cash-plus-player offers.

Monza have made a real habit of bringing in younger players and developing them over the past few seasons. They could certainly be open to signing one of Inter’s young talents.

And CM name Oristanio as a player Inter would weigh up including.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Cagliari. The Rossoblu have a purchase option, but then Inter have a buyback clause if it is activated.
