Inter Milan are working to extend the contracts of coach Simone Inzaghi as well as midfielder Nicolo Barella and captain Lautaro Martinez.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

Inter are still very much working towards several objectives on the pitch.

For one thing, the team has yet to wrap up the Serie A title. They may have a twelve-point advantage in the table, but certainly won’t want to take anything for granted.

Then, there is the matter of the Champions League.

Inter reached the final of last season’s edition of the competition. And they will believe that they’re capable of going on a similar run this time around.

Particularly after beating Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their round of sixteen tie.

But off the pitch, there are also some important matters for the Nerazzurri to attend to.

Inter Line Up New Deals For Inzaghi, Barella & Lautaro

Inter won’t just want this season to be the end of what this current team can accomplish.

This group has shown potential to keep this level up for far longer into the future. Especially with Inzaghi as coach.

So the Nerazzurri are keen to lock down the futures of many of the key players in the team.

Midfielder Nicolo Barella is one of those.

The 27-year-old is currently under contract with Inter until the end of June 2026. But the club will want to update that until the end of June 2028.

The same is true of captain Lautaro Martinez.

And in fact, contract talks with the Argentine and his entourage are already well underway.

And just as important will be securing the future of coach Simone Inzaghi.

The former Lazio coach’s current deal expires at the end of June 2025.

But Inter are ready to try and add two years to that, bringing Inzaghi’s contract until the end of June 2027.
