Inter Milan dream of clinching their 20th Serie A title in the Milan derby against AC Milan, a “nightmare” come true for the Rossoneri.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter still have a ways to go before they can say that they are champions of Serie A.

But the Nerazzurri’s whopping fifteen-point advantage would certainly appear to make it a matter of when rather than if they are able to officially win the title for the first time in three years.

Inter have won their last nine matches in the league.

Undoubtedly, there will be slip-ups between now and the end of the season. But the team’s form to date suggest that there won’t be many.

Meanwhile, even if Juventus were to somehow pull themselves out of their slump and start winning relentlessly again, they would have quite a chase on their hands.

Inter Dreaming Of Serie A Title Win In Derby Vs AC Milan

The upshot of all of this is that in all probability, Inter will mathematically make certain of their status as Italian champions some time in April.

And there is one match in particular that they could be eyeing up for that occasion.

On April 21st, Inter take on AC Milan in the second derby match of the season. The Nerazzurri won the last one by a scoreline of 5-1.

And there is a very real chance that Inter will go into that match knowing that a win, or even just a draw, would be enough to clinch the title.

That derby will be, nominally, a Rossoneri home match.

Therefore, the crowd at the San Siro will be Milan fans by and large.

There will be 7500 or so seats allocated to Inter supporters in the Curva Nord. And there could be chances for Nerazzurri fans to purchase tickets for other seats.

But the fact remains that Inter could be celebrating the title in front of a partisan crowd of their city rivals’ supporters.

That would be an enticing possibility for Inter. And one that Milan will surely want to avoid at all costs.
