Wages could be an obstacle for Inter Milan target Ciro Immobile to leave Lazio during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Immobile currently earns nearly 5 million net per season.

Immobile is one of the names that has reportedly come onto Inter’s radar as far as prospective attacking signings for next season.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly now thinking about making one more signing in attack. That would be in addition to Mehdi Taremi, who is set to join from Porto.

The thinking is that four strikers can leave the squad a little light in terms of depth if one or two players are out with injuries.

And Immobile is one prospective target in attack.

The 34-year-old would certainly bring experience and proven quality in Serie A.

Moreover, Immobile is a player who Inter coach Simone Inzaghi knows very well, having worked with him extensively at Lazio.

Wages An Obstacle For Inter Target Ciro Immobile To Leave Lazio

According to the Corriere, a summer exit for Immobile could be tough.

The reason why is that few clubs may be willing to match the wages that the veteran Italian international is currently earning at Lazio.

Immobile is under contract with the Biancocelesti until the end of June 2026. And the Corriere note that he is earning nearly 5 million net per season.

That is almost certainly more than Inter would be willing to invest in the wages for a backup striker.

Moreover, there is the question of a fee that Lazio would demand for their captain.

Perhaps if Immobile is not in the plans under new coach Igor Tudor, the capital club would be ready to offload the 34-year-old.

However, the financial obstacle for a deal would remain, according to the Corriere.
