Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto and midfielder Stefano Sensi should both be able to return to training this week.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that returns for Marko Arnautovic and Juan Cuadrado are further away.

At the moment, there are five Inter players who are on the sidelines due to injury.

This is in addition to those players currently with their national teams for the break.

Defender Stefan de Vrij did go to join the Netherlands national team training camp for the start of the break. However, the 32-year-old picked up a thigh problem.

De Vrij should be out for a couple of weeks with his injury.

Meanwhile, there are four other players who have spent the international break recovering from injuries.

And the Corriere foresee returns for a couple of them very soon.

Carlos Augusto & Stefano Sensi To Return To Training This Week

First there is wingback Augusto.

The versatile Brazilian picked up a calf problem during Inter’s Serie A win over Bologna earlier this month.

That injury, an elongation of the soleus muscle of Augusto’s right leg, kept the former Monza man out of matches against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and Napoli in Serie A.

But Augusto should be back in training this week. That will give the 25-year-old time to prepare for Inter’s first match back from the break, against Empoli next Monday.

Another player who will be back in training this week is midfielder Sensi.

The former Sassuolo midfielder underwent ankle surgery in February, not long after a transfer to Leicester City fell through.

Injuries have certainly been a theme for Sensi since he joined Inter.

But the Italian international could play a role in the remainder of his final season with the club.

Meanwhile, the Corriere report that striker Arnautovic – out with a thigh strain that he picked up against Bologna – will not be back in training before the end of the break.

The same is true of former Juventus and Chelsea wingback Cuadrado.

The Colombian underwent tendon surgery in December. A return to the pitch is no longer far away for Cuadrado, but not this week.
