Italian journalist Fabio Caressa hails Inter Milan duo Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni who combined to deliver a great goal last Monday.

The two players have become a force to be reckoned with on the left flank. Dimarco is a wingback with a license to roam forward and terrorize opposition with his stinging strikes.

For his part, Bastoni is a defender who also enjoys attacking forrays and can deliver sublime crosses to the box.

Last Monday, the latter provided the assist for his teammate’s fabulous opener against Empoli.

The Nerazzurri emerged victorious with two unanswered goals at the expense of their Tuscan visitors.

Simone Inzaghi’s men kept their closest rivals AC Milan 14 points away. They have thus consolidated their status as the runaway Serie A leaders.

Inter have been solid since the start of the season, and Inzaghi has always been able to rely on a formidable squad. In this regard, the Nerazzurri were lucky not to lose players during the Asian Cup or AFCON in the middle of the campaign like several other European clubs.

Inter currently rely on an Italian block that composes the backbone of the national team.

Of course, this includes Bastoni and Dimarco, two players who possess incredible chemistry according to Caressa.

The Italian journalist included the Nerazzurri in his Best XI Serie A players for Round 30.

“The understanding between Dimarco and Bastoni is working perfectly,” noted Caressa on his YouTube channel via FcInter1908.

“The interchange was great on the goal. These two will be in the Top XI even at the end of the season. This is because they have been consistent since the start of the campaign.

Fabio Caressa Hails Inter Milan Duo Federico Dimarco & Alessandro Bastoni

“I was surprised by the fact that Inzaghi had to take Bastoni by the arm at the end of the match because he replaced him in the second half.

“I understand Simone must also let those who have had less space play when the team has a comfortable lead. These situations allow him to make changes.”

Moreover, the Italian journalist also had some words of praise for star midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Italy international started his campaign on a relatively slow note. Nevertheless, he has been delivering the goods to his club and country in recent months.

“After a moment of decline, Barella is flying again. The midfielder is absolutely fundamental for the Italian national team too.”
