Former Inter Milan defender Danilo D’Ambrosio heaps praise on his old teammates while reserving special plaudits for Simone Inzaghi.

The 35-year-old spent nine years at Appiano Gentile and was a valiant servant to the cause. He made the switch from Torino in January 2014 and remained at the club till last summer.

The veteran left the Nerazzurri after seeing out his contract before signing for Monza as a free agent.

During his time at the club, the versatile defender won five trophies, namely a Scudetto title, two Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cups.

But this time around, D’Ambrosio is watching his former teammates from afar as they close in on the league title.

The Nerazzurri are currently leading the Serie A charts with a 14-point cushion on their closest chasers AC Milan.

Therefore, Inzaghi’s men are the odds-on favorites to clinch the Scudetto. If you’re looking to place a wager on Inter’s league triumph, you can do so after receiving all the information you need on how to bet on BetWinner.

But in the meantime, D’Ambrosio only has words of praise for his former companions who are enjoying a sensational season.

“Inter are having an extraordinary campaign,” said the Monza defender in his interview with Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews.

“Obviously, the mathematics still doesn’t say ‘Inter champions of Italy’ but I think they are only one step away,”

Danilo D’Ambrosio Applauds Inter Milan For Their Brilliant Campaign – Credits Simone Inzaghi & Club Management

D’Ambrosio gives credit to head coach Simone Inzaghi and the club’s directors for their solid work.

“I think talking about just one factor is reductive. For instance, Inzaghi and the management deserve so much credit.

“Nevertheless, the squad with club captain Lautaro has also warranted the same plaudits.

“It was a combination of ideas and attachment to the shirt which ultimately led to the objective they set at the beginning of the season,” he concluded.

In their next fixture, the Nerazzurri will take on Cagliari at home on Sunday night. The club will be looking to collect three routine points that would edge them closer to the Scudetto title.

This would be a historical triumph as it will unlock the club’s second golden star which accompanies the 20th league title.

Inzaghi’s men will be hoping to seal the deal on April 22nd when they take on crosstown rivals AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro.
