Defender Benjamin Pavard has no doubts about what his ambitions are since coming to Inter Milan last summer.

The 28-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, ahead of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with city rivals AC Milan this evening.

It is not as though Pavard had any lack of trophies prior to his arrival at Inter.

The Frenchman had won four Bundesliga titles as well as the Champions League with Bayern Munich.

Moreover, Pavard had also won the World Cup with France in 2018.

But perhaps it was for that very reason that Pavard decided to seek a new challenge.

And the French international never had any doubts about his choice. He wanted Inter, pushing for the move, and eventually getting his wish in the last couple days of last summer transfer window.

Benjamin Pavard: At Inter Milan To Win

It would be fair to say that Pavard’s first season at Inter has lived up to expectations.

The Nerazzurri have suffered some disappointment in the cup competitions. They exited both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League at the round of sixteen stage.

But Inter won the Supercoppa Italiana – Pavard’s first trophy in a Nerazzurri shirt.

And the team are right on the verge of clinching the Serie A title. That would be Pavard’s fifth domestic league title in a row, and his first since coming to the Italian top flight.

Pavard has been a big part of this, as he has become a key starter on the right of Inter’s back three.

“I came here to win trophies ,” Pavard said of his decision to join Inter.

“I’ve already won a lot of trophies. But I want to win tonight, because I’m happy to play for Inter.”

“We’ve already won the Supercoppa,” the Frenchman observed.

“And I hope that tonight we can celebrate the Scudetto and the second star together. It would be incredible.”

The Nerazzurri defender added that “We don’t put pressure on ourselves. We just try to play the football that we’ve been doing since the start of the season.”
