Inter Milan earned a second golden star next to their logo this season with their 20th Serie A championship success. It’s a title which puts them one clear of AC Milan in the all-time standings.

Simone Inzaghi’s side wrapped up the title with five games to spare with a Derby success. Here is a look at what has been behind Inter’s impressive Serie A campaign.

Early Champions League Elimination Helped

As disappointing as it was, Inter Milan’s elimination from this season’s Champions League at the last 16 stage has helped them concentrate on their domestic objectives. Their results since February have reflected that.

The  bet on Champions League online market indicates Real Madrid are the 7/5 favourites to lift the European trophy this season. Inzaghi will watch the four remaining teams left ahead of preparation for a shot at the tournament next year.

Real Madrid have been popular in the Champions League betting tips for the latest edition of the competition. They have managed to navigate strong form in La Liga despite their run to the last four in Europe.

Inzaghi’s challenge next season will be to manage his squad to compete all on fronts.

Inzaghi Continues To Improve Inter Milan Players

Since arriving from Lazio in July 2021, Inzaghi has won 103 of his opening 154 matches. That gives him an impressive winning percentage of 66.88%. Although football remains a results business, a lot of credit must go to the Italian for the way he has improved his players during his time at the club.

The Serie A title this season is his sixth piece of silverware with Inter. He has won the last two editions of Coppa Italia and the last three Supercoppa Italiana tournaments. All that is missing now is success in Europe.

Inzaghi has his eye on finishing this season with a club-record number of points. His side are up to 89 points following their latest 2-0 success against Torino. They will need to reach 98 points if they are to break the record which was set by Roberto Mancini’s side in the 2006/07 campaign.

Lautaro Martinez One Of Hottest Strikers In Europe

With 26 goals in all competitions this season, Lautaro Martinez has been in tremendous form for Inter. He is on course for the best campaign of his career so far. He needs just three more goals to eclipse that.

The Inter striker recently scored his 100th Serie A goal for the club. He joined from Argentina Primera Division club Racing in 2018 and he has already established himself as one of Inter’s best goalscorers.

Martinez leads the way in the leading Serie A goals standings this season. He is seven goals clear of his nearest rival. One of his highlights was a hat-trick again Salernitana back in September. He has also scored big goals in matches against Inter’s championship rivals.

Inter’s final Serie A game this season comes away to Hellas Verona on the 26th of May. They can then reflect on what has been a fantastic campaign in Italy.
