Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to swoop in for Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson who is also on the Inter Milan shortlist.

The Icelandic international is enjoying a sensational campaign at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. He has already scored 14 goals in Serie A this season despite playing as a second striker or an attacking midfielder.

Therefore, the 26-year-old attracted the attention of several top suitors between Italy and Europe.

Inter, Juventus and Napoli are all reportedly on the player’s trail.

But as La Repubblica via Calciomercato explains, the Italian trio could struggle to meet Genoa’s asking price. The Grifone are reportedly seeking at least 35 million euros to part ways with their talismanic star.

Moreover, Bayern Munich have reportedly set their sights on Gudmundsson. The Bavarian giants are looking to revamp their squad following a vastly disappointing campaign

As the source points out, the Bundesliga club has the financial means to splash the Nerazzurri and the other Italian suitors out of the water.

Nevertheless, the Serie A boys will be hoping that the player’s desire to remain in the Italian peninsula plays to their advantage.

Bayern Munich Pose New Threat For Inter Milan In The Race For Albert Gudmundsson

On the other hand, the report believes that the track leading the Premier League has cooled down recently.

News reports previously linked the talented star with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in recent months. However, there hasn’t been any concrete development on this track in recent weeks.

Gudmundsson joined Genoa in January 2022 for just over 1 million euros. Therefore, the Ligurians are preparing to register hefty capital gains upon selling their coveted star.

The striker’s contract with the Rossoblu is valid until June 2027.
